  3. 3.After each game, the leaderboard updates. Whoever's score is closest to the real final score wins a cash prize for that game.
  4. 4.At the end of the playoffs, the overall highest-scoring entry wins the biggest prize. Even last place wins a small amount.

How to Enter

  1. 1
    Fill out your picks
Predict the score of every game — all 13 from Wild Card through the Super Bowl. You must enter a score for both teams in every game. No ties allowed.
  2. 2
    Your bracket fills in automatically
As you enter Wild Card scores, the app figures out who you're predicting to advance and fills in the Divisional matchups. Your entire bracket is set before the playoffs start.
  3. 3
Pay your buy-in to the commissioner
The buy-in amount is set by the person who created your league (usually $30). Send it directly to them — OvertimePools does not handle money. Your entry is confirmed once the commissioner marks you as paid.
  4. 4
    Watch the prizes roll in
Check the Leaderboard after each game goes final. Use the Explore page to see exactly how everyone picked and where you stand.
Your commissioner will share a private invite link to enter your picks for your league.

Prize Pool

Every dollar of the $30 buy-in goes back to players as prizes — paid out by the commissioner. The more people that enter, the bigger every prize gets.

Tips for New Players

  • Your bracket is chain-linked. Pick a team to win in Wild Card and they carry forward automatically. Getting early rounds right is critical.
  • Score precision matters. Two players can pick the same winner — whoever is closer to the actual final score wins. Think about the score, not just the winner.
  • Even the loser gets a prize. There's 1% of the pot for finishing dead last. You're never out of the running for something.
  • The Commissioner has the final say. If there are any questions or disputes, the person who set up your league (the Commissioner) makes the final call.

Full Scoring Rules

Each game runs two competitions simultaneously: a per-game prize and your contribution to the overall season rating.

Per-Game Tie-Breaking Sequence

Simple version: Did you pick both teams in the game? Did you pick the winner? How close was your total score? That's the order — having both teams right and picking the winner beats everything else.

Full order (1st and 2nd place are determined by this sequence):

  1. 1.You predicted both teams in the game and picked the winner
  2. 2.Closest to the total combined score
  3. 3.Closest to the home team's score
  4. 4.You predicted only one team and picked the winner
  5. 5.Then closest to total score, then closest to home team score
  6. 6.You predicted both teams but picked the loser
  7. 7.Then closest to total score, then closest to home team score
  8. 8.You predicted only one team and it lost
  9. 9.Then closest to total score, then closest to home team score
  10. 10.Nobody had either team — everyone is eligible and tie-breakers above apply
Overall Season Rating Points

Accumulated across all 13 games to determine the overall winner and loser prizes.

50 pts
Both teams in game, picked the winner
35 pts
One team in game, picked the winner
25 pts
Both teams in game, picked the loser
10 pts
One team in game, picked the loser

An additional 1–N points are awarded per game for score accuracy, where N is the number of players. Closest total score gets N points, next gets N-1, down to 1.
